Mid America Overview

Mid America Clinical Labs grew out of the failed merger of Community Hospital and St. Vincent. It is one of the largest reference labs in the state. They have labs in all of the Community and St. Vincent Hospitals as well as many smaller locations. They decided to consolidate the reference lab into one location several years ago. Due to the many changes in testing equipment, personnel and processes they wanted to use a flexible casework solution. They were familiar with Herman Miller’s older casework system having used it in several of their hospital settings and decided to incorporate that product with the newer style.

The casework was installed over a covered MEP trench thereby allowing for maximum flexibility. Since the initial installation there have been several additions and 2 major renovations. The decision to use flexible modular casework has certainly paid off. Due some larger pieces of testing equipment some of the case work was taken down. So far we have been pretty successful in reusing those parts.
